Hawks vs Heat preseason preview

Hawks head coach Nate McMillan has so far been silent on how many players his players will play in the preseason, especially those recovering from injuries. So the likes of Clint Capella, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kevin Huerter, and De’Andre Hunter may play out a bit – or they may not play out at all. The team are hoping to have Capela back by the start of the season, so the chances of him seeing the action are slim.

“I was still able to be effective last year, but this year, if I can avoid playing despite the pain and if it means that I have to warm up a little more before the games, it would be beneficial for me. Capela said, via The Athletic. “Right now I’m just trying to be smart and heal the Achilles tendon as much as possible. I’ll just be patient and do whatever needs to be done.

When they are in full health, Trae Young and Huerter will likely form the backcourt, while Bogdanovicc, John Collins and Capela are expected to complete the rest of the starting lineup. The Hawks finished 41-31 last season, advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they lost to eventual NBA champion Milwaukee Bucks.

On the other hand, the Heat enjoyed a disappointing early exit from the playoffs last year when they lost to Milwaukee in the first round. They finished 6th overall in the East with a 40-32 record, but were swept in four games by Giannis Antetokounmpo and company.

The Heat added Kyle Lowry this offseason, and the team are hoping his addition will help them get more points on turnovers as Lowry’s former team, the Raptors, led the NBA in that category last year. .

“His pace is one of the things I dreaded the most about him because it was unpredictable, unscripted moments that you can’t really plot against. And his IQ level and skill level at those times is as good as anyone in the league, ”Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said of Lowry, according to the Miami Herald.

Lowry, along with Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Duncan Robinson and PJ Tucker are expected to form the starting lineup once the regular season begins, and given that Max Strus, Gabe Vincent, Omer Yurtseven and KZ Okpala could see more minutes this pre- season to determine the depth at the exit of the bank. Tyler Herro, Markieff Morris and Dewayne Dedmon are also expected to see a few minutes.
