The Washington Wizards’ new look kicks off the preseason against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday in a game at Toyota Center.

The game (8 p.m. ET, start time) will be televised on AT&T SportsNet Southwest (in local markets; Rockets broadcast), and it will also be available on NBA League Pass for everyone outside of the Rockets market. Games on League Pass are generally only available to non-market viewers, but this will be available to those in the Wizards market as well.

If you are outside the rocket market

Amazon Prime NBA League Pass channel

Note: This is ultimately the same as the regular NBA League Pass (more on that below), but with this option you will be able to watch games on the Amazon app, which tends to be available on more devices than the NBA app

Amazon Prime subscribers (Prime comes with a 30-day free trial) can watch all non-market NBA games (this particular game is also available for those in Market Wizards) through Prime Channels. You can try Amazon Prime and the NBA League Pass channel for free with a free trial:

NBA League Pass on Amazon Prime

Once you’ve signed up for the Prime NBA League Pass channel, both non-market viewers and market Wizards viewers can watch the Wizards vs Rockets live or on demand on the Amazon Video app, which is available on your Roku, Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV or Firestick, Apple TV, Chromecast, any device with Android TV (such as a Sony TV or Nvidia Shield), Xbox One or Series X / S, PlayStation 4 or 5, various smart TVs, Xiaomi, Echo Show or Echo Spot, iPhone, Android phone, iPad or Android tablet.

You can also watch on your computer through the Amazon website.

NBA League Pass

Again, this is mostly the same as the Amazon Prime option above, with the big difference being that you’ll be watching on NBA platforms rather than Amazon’s:

NBA League Pass

Once enrolled in the NBA League Pass, non-market viewers and those in the Wizards market can watch the Wizards vs Rockets live or on-demand on the NBA app, which is available on your Roku, Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV or Firestick, Apple TV, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or 5, iPhone, Android phone, iPad, Android tablet, or other compatible device.

You can also watch on your computer through the NBA website.

Wizards vs Rockets preview

The Wizards have had a busy offseason, trading former MVP Russell Westbrook to the Lakers and creating a new roster around goalie superstar Bradley Beal. New plays in Washington include Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and Spencer Dinwiddie.

“It’s a new group – basically a new team. Having these guys on the pitch together, whether it’s drills or open runs, having the opportunity to get to know each other on and off the pitch, but also developing an understanding of each other’s strengths and weaknesses, where a guy likes his shots, what kind of actions does he prefer – some of the simple details. What box does he like to post on? All those little things that you learn as a player, ”said head coach Wes Unsled Jr.“ We just let the guys feel it, play together and learn from each other. “

Washington finished 34-38 last season, rising in stride. The Wizards rebounded Indiana in the play-in game but were beaten by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round.

The Rockets are in the midst of a major rebuild after finishing with the worst NBA record last season. Houston is looking to build around second overall pick Jalen Green, who has already displayed major advantages as a future league star.

“There are a few things. There is an almost quiet confidence that they all have. LeBron had it when he first came in, ”Rockets sophomore coach Stephen Silas said. “He just had a confident swagger, but not in a loud manner. Luka was really the same. Steph was extremely confident when he was a rookie but didn’t really wear it on his sleeve. They just had it. That’s one of the things that made these guys really, really good. I see that in Jalen, his quiet confidence and the ability to know if he’s working, he’ll be really good.

The elephant in the room for the Rockets is veteran guard John Wall, who owes a shipment of cash but is not expected to play for Houston this season as they work to find a trade. The five-time All-Star owes more than $ 44 million this season.

Injury report
Wizards: Thomas Bryant (knee, out), Deni Avdija (ankle, out), Rui Hachimura (staff, out)
Rockets: John Wall (personal, off)
